at regional wineries, distilleries, salami and ham factories and dairies.
Modern technology matches ancient practices in order to obtain high quality
products such as the renowned Treviso chicory, wines, grappa, white asparagus,
fresh and ripe cheeses …truly Trevisano!
At the many restaurants, bars, and osterie of the area, you will
taste sample the traditional local dishes. Freshly harvested seasonal
ingredients, consist of the fruits that each season yields, accompanied
by the generous local wines, such as Prosecco, Cabernet, Verdiso and Marzemino,
delight your taste buds. After indulging, tasting such delights, if you

Discover the glorious Italian Dolomites on foot
Within driving distance of Il Faé, these magnificent mountains
can be explored on foot in summertime. Soaring light-hued rock faces act
as the backdrop for meadows carpeted with brilliant alpine wildflowers.
An easy guided walk in the beautiful Cadore district makes a great introduction
to this fascinating area. A picnic lunch with a view will be enjoyed.
A walk through the ancient forest of the Cansiglio
The wise rulers of Venice realised they would need a guaranteed supply
of timber to construct their unique city, and they set up strict laws
regulating the forests that cover the extensive, medium-altitude Cansiglio
district. Nowadays it is under the control of the State Forestry Commission,
which continues the good work, ensuring a haven for trees, wildlife (roe
deer) and walkers alike. After a short drive from Il Faé, you are
guided past a rich pasture basin and set off to explore the forest on
a straightforward walk. A picnic lunch is included.
For both trips a day pack and non-slip basic hiking boots with ankle support
are essential, as are rainproofs, sun protection and a water bottle.
